Size: 17″ wide x 21 3/4″ tall
Process: Four Color Lithograph on Archival Paper
For sale is a “Bald Eagle” signed lithograph from artist Richard Sloan. Each raptor print is a Limited Edition of 500, and each print is autographed and hand-numbered by the artist. These recently discovered lithographs were printed in 1993 and are in excellent, like-new condition. The prints are four-color lithographs on archival paper, measuring 17″ wide by 21 3/4″ tall. The print number (“x/500”) is in the lower left corner of the print, while Richard’s signature is in the lower right corner. There is an original printer misspelling error in the print information at the bottom of the Bald Eagle lithograph that reads “The Raptures of Arizona”. This error is only on this print, and is not prominent (please see pictures.)
Please note: the unique print number you receive will be different from the photo.
Title: Bald Eagle
A large blackish eagle with white head and tail and heavy yellow bill. Young birds lack the white head and tail, and resemble adult Golden Eagles, but are variably marked with white and have a black, more massive bill. Bald Eagles are fish eaters, like Ospreys. When they pursue their prey, they rarely enter the water as an Osprey does, but instead snatch the fish from the surface with their talons. Where Ospreys are common, the eagles obtain much of their food by stealing it from the smaller “fish hawk.”

Richard Sloan, who passed away in 2007, was a world-renowned wildlife illustrator specializing in raptors whose paintings have been featured in several nature publications and exhibited at numerous museums, galleries, and private collections. In the Spring of 1998, The University Of Arizona Press published the book “The Raptors Of Arizona“, a 220 page volume on the birds of prey of the Southwest, featuring 42 Sloan paintings.
